In Surrey, charity Marketing Manager Jo and Technology Analyst Julian bought a huge doer-upper with a bequest from Jo’s Mum. With daughters Lizzie and Hattie, they lived in the house thinking they could work out for themselves how to renovate it. They couldn’t. The gym-sized ground floor is split into parallel universes by a dividing wall with a serving hatch; the kitchen is from another era and the conservatory is baking in summer, frozen in winter. Enter Sarah Beeny who installs monitoring cameras then suggests a stunning new layout and design. It’s a massive job. Will they complete it?
